Armed Services Republicans threatened Wednesday to filibuster the defense authorization bill if it comes to the floor with Democrat-backed language repealing the military’s “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy.
Armed Services ranking member John McCain said Thursday that he would “without a doubt” support a filibuster if the bill goes to the floor with repeal language.
You know what? Bring it on. Bring. It. On. Go ahead. Deny funding for THE ENTIRE MILITARY because you’re scared of addressing the fact that we ALREADY have gay and lesbian people serving in the military. GO AHEAD and deny funding for our troops on the ground fighting for our freedoms every single day because you’re afraid of repealing an antiquated policy that 8 out of 10 Americans think should be repealed. GO AHEAD and show that your party will put its fear of a changing society and preserving the last remaining form of government sanctioned discrimination ahead of our men and women in uniform. GO AHEAD.
oh for christ’s sake. really seth? REALLY?
